Cookies

Cookies have to be enabled on your browser in order for you to login successfully.

To enable cookies, follow the instructions below for the browser version you are using.

Mozilla Firefox (1.x final release and earlier)

• Go to the "Tools" menu.
• Select "Options".
• Select the "Privacy" icon in the left panel.
• Check the box corresponding to "Allow sites to set cookies".
• Click "OK" to save changes.

Netscape 7.1/Mozilla 5.0

• Select "Preferences" from the Edit menu.
• Click on the arrow next to "Privacy & Security" in the scrolling window to expand.
• Under "Privacy & Security", select "Cookies."
• Select "Enable all cookies".
• Click "OK".

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0+

• Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu.
• Click on the "Privacy" tab.
• Click the "Default" button (or manually slide the bar down to "Medium") under "Settings".
• Click "OK".

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x

• Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu.
• Click on the "Security" tab.
• Click the "Custom Level" button.
• Scroll down to the "Cookies" section.
• To enable:
  • Set "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer" to "Enable".
  • Set "Allow per-session cookies" to "Enable".
• Click "OK".

Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x

• Select "Internet Options" from the View menu.
• Click on the "Advanced" tab.
• Scroll down to find "Cookies" within the "Security" section.
• To enable:
  • Select "Always accept cookies".
• Click "OK".

Netscape Communicator 4.x

• Select "Preferences" from the Edit menu.
• Find the "Cookies" section in the "Advanced" category.
• To enable:
  • Select "Accept all cookies" (or "Enable all cookies").
• Click "OK".

Failed Login

Kindly check the following before proceeding:

• Forgotten username or password
• Cookies

For security purposes, your account will be locked after three or more incorrect logins. Your account will be reactivated ten minutes after your third failed attempt, twenty minutes after your fourth failed attempt, thirty after your fifth, etc. For further assistance, please contact the Web Team.

Browsers required

Internet Explorer 6 implements the Platform for Privacy Preferences (P3P) Project developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). This causes IE6 to filter cookies based on compact policies implemented within web pages and the user's privacy settings.

We have not yet implemented the P3P standards within the St. John Supplies web site and this is currently causing users of IE6 problems with our shopping basket. To use the shopping basket successfully on our site you must currently declare that you trust the St. John Supplies web site within your settings or alter the settings to accept all cookies.

To exempt the St. John Supplies web site

From the Tools menu, select Internet Options and then choose the privacy tab and click the Edit button. In the 'Address of Web Site' box type www.stjohnsupplies.co.uk in the box and click the 'Allow' button. Click OK and then Click OK again.

To accept all cookies

From the Tools menu, select Internet Options and then choose the privacy tab. Adjust the slider to the bottom of the range. The text should change to be Accept all Cookies. Click the OK button.

In both cases you may need to close Internet Explorer and then open it again before the changes take effect.
